Enterprising by KillaBC Enterprising by KillaBC
I had quite a lot of fun doing this one. I also had a go at making the Enterprise the focus without blurring the background too much. Overall i'm quite happy with it.

Wow that's pretty impressive! I have little knowledge of 3d work, but many of these renders of the ship from artists on this site make them better looking than they did in the movies. I think that I'm slowing beginning to like the Jj Abrams ship- well At least certain parts of it, I like the sweeping shapes and thicker neck, I think it's just the secondary hull, for me it seems too short
, which gives it a sort of 'top heavy ' look, mmm may grow on me in time

It's certainly top heavy and that's the main gripe I have with it, unlike the Galaxy it doesn't flow as well into it. Even so it's not too bad. :D

yeah not too bad seen from certain angles, such as from below and behind, i certainly like all the extra lighting on the ship, still, part of me was kind of hoping at the end of the ST Into darkness movie, that after the Enterprise was repaired that they might, just might have fixed it with a new, longer secondary hull. oh well, looks like we're stuck with it.

Nice! The deflector dish looks a little large, but it is still beautiful.

You should see the Pilot TOS Enterprise, that dish was massive. Though from what I know the dish is correct, Madman put I lot of detail into the JJ-prise.

Nice angle, lighting and overall it has a great feel to it. You certainly got very close to the movies. Good work!

I even threw the mandatory lens flare. I took some liberties of how it was actually seen in the movies and I really wanted to get the shuttle in their too, but I couldn't find the mesh. Still I'm happy with the way it cam out. Thank you. :)

I wonder why - and who - they decided not to put the registries on the underside of the saucer. I find that odd.

They didn't have it on the TOS version, they have registry on the body to mix it up. It's not a major problem though.

I thought they did have regs on the Series version; either side of the sensor dome, toward the edge of the saucer. Sort of edge, sort of middle, on the part of the saucer underside that is flat.

Well forgive my ignorance, they do. I thought they were just the two triangle looking things. Damn, well I have no idea why they missed that out on the JJ-Prise.

This will probably a bit long comment.
First commenting on your conversation: I knew they were on the original Enterprise but I haven't noticed that it's not on the JJ-prise.
Second: Though overall I like the picture, for me the model of the station where the Enterprise is docked to it seems to be a bit rough (the edges especially). I'm not an expert in digital art, but I would say that it didn't get any post-effects in photoshop.
Third: What do you think of Star Trek Into Darkness?
There was a fourth also but I can't remember that. (things like this happen when I wake at 3:30 in the morning. the exams need a lot of space in my head :D )

Well lets get to work!:

2: This has more post effects in Photoshop than you can shake a stick at, the station model itself has the rough edges but they don't look too bad.

3: I enjoyed Star Trek into Darkness for what it was, my brain didn't get much out of it but I enjoyed it. Saw it twice would buy on Blu-ray.

There. :D

Thanks for the quick reply and sorry for the late reply :D
Unfortunately I'm really picky when I'm tired but that doesn't change the fact that I will change my wallpaper for this on my notebook.
But I let Geralt enjoy the spotlight for a few more days
