The war between two races on two moons in orbit of a gas giant had been going on for almost 50 years. It ravaged the entire solar system and the crude atomic weaponary devasted much of the planets except the homeworlds. Which was agreed from the outset of the war not to commit hostile conflict near the homeworlds. However the conflict reached it's climax at the end when a massive fleet engagment erupted above one of the Homeworlds. It resulted in a debris field which spanned the entire orbit of the planet.

Not only did the civillian population see the war first hand they also experianced an invasion which once repelled saw a revolution. The people deposed the government and brokered a peace. The war had dragged on too long and people had become fatigued by it's effects. Food, clothing and luxury good rationing slowly diminished and trade between the two worlds flourish.

10 Years later the debris field remains as a reminder and memorial of those lost to the Generation War. Not only has the quality of life improved but the speed of light barrier is soon to be broken. The chains of being tied to this tired system were soon to be broken.

I just thought the triangles played a significant roll in the story, you know, because they are the most noticeable features one would think they had some special meaning.

No intent of challenging your work, I just thought that the triangles would play a roll in the story, seeing as they are the most interesting looking features on both moons.
