Last Stand by KillaBC Last Stand by KillaBC
The USS Kelvin is attacked by unknown forces by a star after coming out of a black hole.

I haven't had much time for doing much, it's exam season but hopefully I'l be responding at a much more regular basis.

That scene should have looked like this.

I liked the '09 scene, though something different doesn't hurt? :D

Yeah, but I've always wanted to see the TOS ships get some glory with new effects...

Me too though there seems to be the thought that if its a TOS ship it has to look like it's actually been filmed in the 1960's. That's why I like guys who put there own spin on it. Makes it fresh and shows how far ahead these designs actually are.

I noticed that about the "remastered" series. They just replaced the scenes with CGI, without changing the movements, the camera angles, or anything else. I found that seriously annoying.

I would love it if they made a new series set in TOS's timeline, but made the flyby and action sequences dynamic. They actually did that (somewhat) in the Mirror Universe episodes in Enterprise, with the Defiant. I would also like to see ships like the Dreadnoughts in action.

Has anyone ever made an accurate mesh of the U.S.S. Star Empire? It was a TOS ship made by a militaristic faction of Starfleet in the Diane Carey novel, "Dreadnought!". It was based heavily on the Dreadnought's design.

I've never seen the Star Empire before though I am aware of it. It may be worth while doing a bit on internet searching to see. Though there are plenty of Federation class models floating around.

I found a "blueprint" file showing the Star Empire, but they gave it an octagonal primary hull instead of hexagonal, as described in the novel.
